It's been a long week, and I just put 8 kids to bed as part of a bday party, and I'm tired. So for now, let me just say that your final point that outrage can also be dysfunctional is definitely right. I don't think that outrage is always properly aimed or veridical. But what I was trying to get at in the post is when and under what conditions it can be.
